This month marks the ten-year anniversary of Chadkirk Transport. That’s right, we’re officially in double digits! We’re super excited about reaching this significant milestone, and to celebrate, we’re reflecting on how far we’ve come in this time, and how far we want to go.

A whole decade ago, Rhys Fildes, the founder, started out on the road as just one man and a van, primarily transporting house removals. Now, 10 years on, a lot has changed. We’ve gone from a small, local courier business to a successful, same day haulier providing a 24/7 nationwide service. We have 12 vehicles in our fleet, ranging from a small van right up to 18 tonne trucks, and, it’s needless to say – we have a lot more drivers too!

What hasn’t changed though is our business ethos and values. We’ve grown considerably over the years, however we’re proud to say we have always maintained the same high level of service to all of our customers. We strive to be the best in the business, and to do so, we have, and always will, provide a friendly and professional service at all times.

There’s been huge changes within the transport industry since we started, and we’ve continued to develop our services alongside these changes, allowing us to stay up to date with legislation and competitors and to meet new demands. In the past three years alone we’ve received our FORS Silver accreditation, showing our commitment to operating ‘safer’ and ‘greener’, and our ADR licence, allowing us to transport hazardous and dangerous goods. Being a FORS compliant transport company has also enabled us to expand our customer base as many sites across the UK now require this accreditation in order to deliver into them.

As we’ve grown, we’ve also invested in our people. Most of our drivers joined the business with a standard licence, however all of them are now either driving our 7.5tonne or Class 2 vehicles. In the near future, we are planning to expand our fleet further by acquiring our first two articulated lorries and trailers, which will enable us to put a couple of our drivers through their Class 1 licence.

“I believe the same day service we provide has been one of the keys to this success. We offer dedicated vehicles at as short notice as an hour, and this flexibility has allowed us to meet our customers’ urgent demands.

“Ten years is a long time, but it’s just the beginning for us. We may have grown considerably over this period however we have even bigger targets set for the future. The next decade will bring further developments so we can continue to offer bespoke solutions for all the different requirements our customers ask have. We’re excited for what’s to come!”
