New Year – New Vehicles!

2021 is the year of new vehicles for us at Chadkirk Transport.
Since January, we have acquired three additions to our fleet – and have another on the way. An articulated lorry and trailer, a long wheelbase van and a luton with a new 7.5tonne box truck due into us this October.
We pride ourselves on having a modern, extensive fleet by renewing our vehicles on a regular basis. Continuously improving our fleet helps us to ensure we can meet changing demands and specific customer requirements.
The first vehicle to arrive this year was our first ever artic – a Volvo FH. As exciting as it can be, buying a new vehicle can also be daunting. There’s always a worry as to whether it will have a job every day but we can safely say this has been our best vehicle purchase to date. The truck hasn’t had a day off since – it’s doing us proud!
Our new long wheel base van was next to arrive – an Iveco Daily H2. After having one of these vans for five years, when it came to needing another LWB, we didn’t hesitate to get a second Iveco. It’s been a great vehicle for us and the 4.7m length is substantial.
Last but not least, our final vehicle arrived in February – a MAN TGE Luton van. With a tail lift and specially made bars to create a hard side for awkward freight, it’s already proving to be a significant addition to our fleet.
All three vehicles have been fitted with the necessary FORS Silver technology and ADR equipment enabling them to transport dangerous goods.
Why do we like to upgrade our vehicles so often?
- Enable us to transport to London following its changes to the ultra low emission zone
- Keep up to date with our FORS accreditation
- Improve our vehicles emissions
- Ensure our vehicles are Euro 6 (even though they’re definitely not as good as we thought with the different warning lights that come on every other day!)
- Reduce maintenance costs
- Improve fuel efficiency
- Keep up to date with technology
- Offer our customers a wider range of services.
Our latest vehicle on order for 2021 is a 7.5tonne Iveco box. With a payload of around 3,000kg, it’s going to be another great addition for us. Roll on October! Is anyone else having to wait months and months for a new vehicle to arrive?
